This is going to be an angry post and it’s going to be bad publicity for my country. Although the country itself is beautiful, but it’s the people living in it that I’m angry at! I can’t help but write about something that happened today, which unfortunately happens a lot here.
I went to a mall with my brother to get something he needed and on the way home, I saw a dog lying helpless on the street. He had just been ran over by a car (I didn’t see that happening but 2 ladies stopped and told us about the incident). We moved the poor dog to the pavement and as we were trying to contact our vet, the dog died within 15 minutes after the accident. Needless to say that the driver didn’t even stop! And what pisses me off the most is that he could have avoided the dog, because the ladies told us that the car that hit him was waiting for the green light and so he could have waited a little more for the poor dog to cross the street. But no, he just didn’t give a shit about the poor dog so he hit him. And why was this dog running around on the streets to begin with? Because some other idiotic Greek had abandoned him there. As most Greeks do. Where is the culture of the ancient Greece? Where is the world known civilization? I’m afraid it’s just that: ancient history! I’m really sorry to say that and it hurts me to admit it, but it’s the truth. They say that a society’s civilization is measured by how it treats the weak. We treat animals terribly. There are some people who try to do something about animal rights and plain animal lovers (like me), but we are not enough. The majority is like the bastard who ran over the dog and left. And I’m sure that he would do the same if it was a human. Because if you can be cruel to an animal you can be cruel to man as well.
I’m so angry and disappointed, that I couldn’t help the poor doggy and that I didn’t get to see the bastard who hit him and take his license plates’ number. I would have taken him to court, because as of now, hitting an animal and running away constitutes a Felony. So please, if you happen to see another bastard who does that, take him to the police and report him. It’s the least we can do!

In case you are wondering I took my photos before the incident and I decided to post them here even though this post is not about my outfit. But I don’t have time to make a separate post for it and I’m already one post behind! Please don’t think I’m being insensitive!

I love this song by Prince and I love purple color. The highlight of this post is my nail color around which I based my whole outfit. It usually goes the other way around, but I don’t always go by the rules! I did a simple nail design using a purple color by Avon (arabian glow in purple passion) and then applying a Zoya polish (casey) at the tip, making some random lines with a toothpick before it dried. I would do nail designs more frequently if only I wasn’t so impatient when it comes to waiting for nail polish to dry!
Tomorrow will be a difficult day as far as public transport is concerned (all the public means of transport are on strike), so I will run some errands in the nearby area, on foot. I hate being stuck in traffic!

And I’m not talking about my outfit! While I’m editing my photos and writing this post, I’m listening to an internet radio station (clubfmradio.com), playing from itunes. I like listening to music while working or surfing the internet and I usually choose radio stations that play light jazz or slow r&b songs, or even slow 80’s and rock songs. That way the music doesn’t take my mind off what I’m doing (usually).
Tonight I have slow r&b jams playing and while I was uploading my photos there was an old Aretha Franklin song called “United together” that has some beautiful lyrics like “There’s nothing we can’t overcome, if you let me be your only one”. Corny, I know, but I’m incurably romantic and I believe in soul mates, what can I say?!

I’m always in search of a nice title for my posts and today I had no idea what title to use, until I saw the name of the Mac fluidline I applied on my eyes. I’m wearing mostly earth colors here, so I figured that the “rich ground” is suitable enough!
This morning I spent more than 1 hour trying to deal with the public sector (ΔΕΗ, the electricity company) and it was so frustrating. I hate this kind of paperwork and going from one office to another trying to figure out who can help you do what you came for!

How do you usually come up with a title for your post? I’ve seen some quite random and maybe irrelevant titles in blog posts...

I could have some beautiful photos to post today because I spent the day out and about in the city, having coffee with a friend and lunch at a lovely little Thai restaurant. But stupidly enough I forgot my camera at home and my iphone pics are not satisfactory, quality wise. So, it’s the same old wall again!
Even though I didn’t have any plans for this weekend, it turned out to be very busy and fun. Sometimes, nice things come along when you least expect them! ;)

What a lovely day today. The sun was shining and although it was quite chilly I enjoyed my short walk by the sea and a hot cup of french coffee at a nearby cafeteria with a friend. I guess you must have figured out by now that I’m a sea person. The mountains are nice, but I love the sea and cannot live without her (it’s a “she” according to shipmen). Not much else to say about today other than I was out for most of the day and it was lovely. I really prefer going out in the morning and staying in at night. Especially on a Saturday night when everybody is out on clubs and bars and there’s so much traffic and no place to park. I enjoy a nice dinner indoors, playing board games or watching DVDs. I don’t know if that means I’m getting older or wiser (or both!).
