Last week I finally got something that has been on my wish list for quite some time: a DSLR! It’s an older model, so it was used, but in mint condition. I haven’t had the chance to play with it the past few days, but today my brother and I went to Gazi in Athens and gave my new camera a try. I admit that it takes a lot of practicing to get a decent shot and it really helps having someone to show you the tricks.
I also found a manual of the Canon 40D on youtube, which was really helpful.
If you do buy a DSLR and have no idea how to use it, don’t worry, there is a lot of information online. My advice though, is to set it in Manual mode, because the whole point of getting a DSLR is to learn how to take good quality pictures!
(The photos of me were taken by my brother. the rest of the photos and the editing are by me)

(Vest: Bershka, Top: from random shop, Palazzo pants: ProdigyRed, Shoes: Adidas, Bag: Zara, Sunglasses: Rayban, Bracelts: H&M, DIY chain, DIY charm bracelet, Vintage silver bracelets)

Tomorrow it’s the FNO in Athens. Is anyone going? If yes, leave me a comment or email me and maybe we could meet up.

I think I'll wear my new ASOS dress and bag with a pair of nude lace up booties (unless I change my mind at the last minute!). What are you planning on wearing (for my Greek friends) or what did you wear at the FNO (for my international friends)?

Hi my lovelies! Sorry for being MIA this weekend. There was a lot going on and little or no time to post. On Saturday I was quite busy at the studio but sadly I couldn’t take any outfit photos. But I have a few from last night, from my high school reunion. Not exactly the whole high school, just my classmates. But that alone was overwhelming. I mean, I haven’t seen most of them since we finished high school and believe me that’s a looooong time ago!
I had a fantastic time and I was so happy to see all of them. We had so much to catch up on and we sat there for hours chatting about the past and the present. Most of my classmates are married and have children and others are in long term relationships. I’m the black sheep of the herd, lol!!!

The question is not about the outfit. It’s just that I’d like your feedback on something. Lately I’ve been wondering weather I should or shouldn’t reply to comments. Please don’t take this the wrong way and think that I’m starting to act like a Diva (!), I don’t mean that I will ignore your comments. I mean that maybe I should just visit your blogs and leave my comments to your posts (which I already do most of the times).
The reasons I started to think about this, are:
  1. the fact that my schedule doesn’t always allow me to reply to comments, even though I always read them and I totally appreciate every single one!
  2. when I leave a comment at a post, I don’t have the time to return to that post and check if there is a reply. And to be honest I don’t need to. They only thing I’d like in return is for the blogger to stop by my blog and leave me a comment too.
So, what do you think? Isn’t it a double trouble to reply to comments in your own post? Because then the person that left you the comment has to come back to your post AGAIN and read your reply. And if you didn’t have the time to reply the next day, how is that person to know when you will reply? So they’d have to come back to your post over and over again. And we all know how little time we have to do our blog reading!
I’ve come to the conclusion that the most honest, kind and correct way to deal with this (imo) is to stop by your commenters’ blogs and leave them a comment in return. And if someone asks you something in a comment, you can reply to them in their post (so they’ll definitely see it). Many bloggers do that and I think it works.
I hope I’m making sense here and I sincerely wish that you will continue to leave your comments. And be sure that I’ll be stopping by your blogs, because I like them and not because I have to!!!

As promised, here is the second post. In this outfit (from the waist up) I feel like a female version of Marlon Brando in the movie “The wild one”. He played the character of an outlaw biker, wearing a perfecto jacket, a white T-shirt with jeans and boots and a tilted hat, a style that later became an iconic image. Perfecto style jackets and biker boots are still in fashion.
This outfit has some elements of the biker style with the addition of a faux fur scarf and the high heeled peep toe ankle boots, to make it a bit more feminine.

I don’t know if that expression actually means anything, but it was the effect I used on the first photo (when editing) and it seemed kinda cool to use as a title.
The Athens Exclusive Designers Week is coming up and I can’t wait. I don’t think I will be able to attend every single show, but I’ll definitely be there on Saturday and Monday. So if any of you are planning to be there, email me and we can meet up.

Another day spent at the studio, doing our very first photoshoot. I love working in our studio, my make up table is exactly like I wanted it and the mirrors with the lights create such a beautiful atmosphere. At the end of the day I got lucky too and got my outfit pics taken (by you-know-who), and I bet you can see it in my face that I’m pretty exhausted. I can barely type these few words now...but I had such a great time!

My beloved friends and followers thank you so much for your kind wishes (in the previous post) and for sharing my joy in my new project. It means a lot to me that you always support me and wish me all the best. And I’m sorry for not commenting much on your posts lately, it’s just that I have to give all my time and energy to this new line of work. But I promise to stop by your lovely blogs very soon...

I can finally reveal a few things about the “secret project”, that you’ve heard me (or read me) going on for some time now. My photos today were taken in a studio, but not just any studio: my brother and I are proud to present the “Close Up Photography Studio”!
As most of you know, my brother is a professional Photographer and I’m a Make up Artist, so we finally decided to have a place of our own. He has the major part in this whole project of course, but I also have a make up room to do my part of the job and I’m absolutely thrilled! The first photo is taken in the make up room (my own “heaven”) and the second is taken in the lounge. The rest are taken in the studio. Not all rooms are completely ready yet, but the place is ready to function.
So now, you can understand why I was tired all the time, but the whole thing is totally worth it!!!

Today I went to some friends‘ house in the southern suburbs. They have a lovely house with a garden and a cute little cat. I could have taken some beautiful outfit pics in their garden, but I felt a little embarrassed to do that in front of the people that were there. My close friends know about my blog and support me (and are usually glad to help me with my photos). But with people who are not so much into fashion I don’t feel as comfortable to let them know about my blog, much less start posing in their house!

Tonight I was invited to a friend’s surprise party, which was actually a small gathering to celebrate his birthday. It’s Monday night and everybody has to go to work tomorrow so it was a casual thing. So my outfit was semi-casual, especially since I had to go there straight from work. I wore a lovely sweater that I bought on sales. I had been looking for a loose knit with thick horizontal stripes for a while and I was so glad I found this one!

I have to catch up on my blog reading again and hope I can do some of it tomorrow. And as for your lovely comments, thank you all so much!!!
