13th Mercedes-Benz Athens Exclusive Designers Week - Celebrity Skin "Pure Evil"

On Day 4 of the AXDW we saw Celebrity Skin. They never fail to impress with their collections, their concepts and their shows. This collection, titled "Pure Evil", was the third part of a trilogy, and its concept was the most theatrical of all. Faithful to their avant garde style, the dynamic duo (Dimitris Strepkos and Eleni Mparla) created a captivating collection and filled the runway with Celebrities, as always! Pemi Zouni, Katia Nikolaidou, Ada Livitsanou, Natassa Kalogridi, Vicky Koulianou, Ioanna Soulioti, Laoura Narges, where some of the many celebs that wore the amazing Celebrity Skin creations and walked down the runway.

There were mostly total black ensembles, with wool elements, precious stones, lots of see-through and also some nude pieces and the beautiful masks created by jewelry designer Dionysis Piromalis. 

I bet the woman that wears Celebrity Skin is fierce and sexy and a bit ...evil! But they say that it's the Bad girls that have all the fun, right?! 

Την Τέταρτη μέρα της AXDW είδαμε και το show των Celebrity Skin. Πάντα εντυπωσιάζουν με τις ιδέες τους, τις συλλογές και τα show τους. Αυτή η συλλογή, με τον τίτλο "Pure Evil", αποτελεί το τρίτο μέρος μιας τριλογίας και θα έλεγα πως το concept της είναι μάλλον το πιο θεατρικό. Πιστοί στο avant garde στυλ τους, το δυναμικό δίδυμο (Ο Δημήτρης Στρέπκος και η Ελένη Μπάρλα), δημιούργησαν μια σαγηνευτική συλλογή και γέμισαν την πασαρέλα με Celebrities, ως συνήθως! Η Πέμη Ζούνη, η Κάτια Νικολαϊδου, η Άντα Λιβιτσάνου, η Νατάσσα Καλογρίδη, η Βίκυ Κουλιανού, η Ιωάννα Σουλιώτη, η Λάουρα Νάργες, είναι μερικές από τους Celebs που φόρεσαν τις εκπληκτικές δημιουργίες των Celebrity Skin και περπάτησαν στην πασαρέλα. 

Είδαμε κυρίως μαύρα σύνολα, με στοιχεία από μαλλί, πολύτιμους λίθους, διαφάνειες και επίσης μερικά nude κομμάτια, καθώς και τις υπέροχες μάσκες του σχεδιαστή κοσμημάτων Διονύση Πυρομάλλη.

Στοιχηματίζω πως η γυναίκα που φοράει Celebrity Skin είναι δυναμική, σέξυ και λίγο...διαβολική! Αλλά όπως λένε, τα κακά κορίτσια είναι αυτά που περνούν καλά, σωστά;!

13th Mercedes-Benz Athens Xclusive Designers Week - Konstantinos Mitrovgenis "Phobia"

Day 4 at the AXDW and here comes the first show of the day...one hour later than it was supposed to start. It was quite hot in the room and we were a bit frustrated from all the waiting. Not in the best mood I should say...

So the show starts and I think ok, it's nice, the clothes are great but I'm not so crazy about it. And then...BOOM!!! It started getting hotter and hotter and I'm not talking about the temperature! 

The designer appeared on the catwalk to make changes to the clothes, which were transformed to a totally different outfit. This kept us more and more intrigued to what would come next. A long conservative dress would be transformed into a sexy outfit. Who doesn't love a multi-use garment? And they are all made with such precision and attention to detail, that they actually work...in all their transformations!

But Konstantinos Mitrovgenis didn't stop there. He continued to amaze us with impressive "stunts", like inviting us to interact with our lazer lights (that we were given there), introducing a dress made out of mirror pieces that reflected the light and last but not least, a burning dress! All that was well worth the wait!

The soundtrack of the show was a live performance by the band White Noise and the music suited perfectly the concept and the "beat" of the collection. 

Kudos to Konstantinos Mitrovgenis for creating a wonderful collection and presenting an unforgettable show!!!

Τέταρτη μέρα στην AXDW και έρχεται η ώρα του πρώτου show...με μια ώρα καθυστέρηση. Στην αίθουσα έκανε πολύ ζέστη και είχαμε λίγο εκνευριστεί από την αναμονή. Δεν είχαμε και την καλύτερη των διαθέσεων θα έλεγα...

Ξεκινά λοιπόν το show και σκέφτομαι, ΟΚ, καλό είναι, ωραία είναι και τα ρούχα αλλά δεν τρελαίνομαι. Και μετά...ΜΠΟΥΜ! Αρχίζει να γίνεται όλο και πιο καυτό, και όχι, δεν μιλάω για την θερμοκρασία! Εμφανίζεται ο σχεδιαστής στην πασαρέλα και κάνει κάποιες αλλαγές στα ρούχα, τα οποια μεταμορφώνει σε εντελώς διαφορετικά σύνολα. Αυτό μας κίνησε το ενδιαφέρον και περιμέναμε εναγωνίως να δούμε ποιά θα είναι η επόμενη μεταμόρφωση. Ένα μακρύ συντηρητικό φόρεμα γινόταν ξαφνικά ένα σέξυ σύνολο. Ποιός δεν αγαπά τα πολυ-χρηστικά ρούχα; Και είναι όλα φτιαγμένα με τέτοια ακρίβεια και προσοχή στη λεπτομέρεια, που πραγματικά το αποτέλεσμα είναι εξαιρετικό. 

Αλλά ο Κωνσταντίνος Μητροβγένης δεν σταμάτησε εκεί. Συνέχισε να μας εκπλήσσει με εντυπωσιακά "εφέ", όπως τα παιχνίδια με τα lazer lights που μας δόθηκαν, το φόρεμα με τα κομμάτια από καθρέπτη που αντανακλούσε το φως και τέλος με το φλεγόμενο φόρεμα! Όλα αυτά άξιζαν την αναμονή!

Το soundtrack του show ήταν μια ζωντανή εμφάνιση των White Noise και η μουσική ταίριαζε απόλυτα με το concept και τον "παλμό" της συλλογής.

Συγχαρητήρια στον Κωνσταντίνο Μητροβγένη για την υπέροχη συλλογή και το αξέχαστο fashion show που μας παρουσίασε!

13th Mercedes-Benz Athens Xclusive Designers Week - Miltos

As most of you know, these past 4 days the 13th Athens Xclusive Designers Week took place. I could only attend it on Day 2 and Day 4.  And particularly on Saturday (Day 2), it was my birthday, so I could only attend one show and that was Miltos'.
If you follow this blog for some time you must know by now that I always like Miltos' fashion shows. He has a love for past decades and he knows the History of Fashion very well. Each and every collection is inspired by a certain era, or a certain personality of the past.
This collection was inspired by the movie "The Great Gatsby" and its recent remake. So it was the late 20s and the 30s that we saw come back to life in his fashion show. Great quality fabrics, flowy dresses, low waistlines and feminine but elegant lines were shown.   
The make up was also beautiful, reminiscing of the era but with a modern twist that made it less theatrical. And the hairstyles were beautifully retro as well!

Οπως γνωρίζετε οι περισσότεροι, τις περασμένες 4 ημέρες έλαβε χώρα στην Αθήνα η 13η AXDW. Μπόρεσα να παρευρεθώ μόνο την 2η και την 4η μέρα, και συγκεκριμένα το Σάββατο, ήταν τα γενεθλιά μου και κατάφερα να παρακολουθήσω μόνο ένα show. Αυτο ηταν του Μίλτου.
Εάν παρακολουθείτε καιρό αυτο το blog θα γνωρίζετε ήδη ότι λατρεύω τα show του Μίλτου. Εχει μια ιδιαίτερη αγάπη για τις περασμένες δεκαετίες και γνωρίζει πολύ καλά την Ιστορία της Μόδας. Κάθε του collection είναι εμπνευσμένη απο κάποια συγκεκριμένη εποχή ή πρόσωπο του παρελθόντος. Αυτή η συλλογή είχε ως έμπνευση την ταινία "The Great Gatsby" και το πρόσφατο remake της. Αρα η έμπνευση ηταν τα τέλη της δεκαετίας του '20 και το '30, εποχές που είδαμε να ζωντανεύουν πάνω στο ντεφιλέ. Είδαμε υφάσματα εξαιρετικής ποιότητας, αέρινα και χαμηλόμεσα φορέματα και θηλυκές αλλά και κομψές γραμμές.

Το μακιγιάζ ήταν εξαιρετικό και θύμιζε την εποχή, με μοντέρνες όμως πινελιές που το έκαναν λιγότερο θεατρικό. Τα χτενίσματα ήταν επίσης υπέροχα ρετρό!

Fashion week outfit

These past 2 weeks have been quite busy fashion wise, but it’s been fun. I couldn’t make it to all shows, but at least I watched some that I really enjoyed. 

This the outfit that I wore on the last day of Athens Fashion Week. What do you think about my new Giuseppe Zanotti boots? (and I quote Rachel Zoe) I diiiiiiieeeeee!!!
