Oh I feel so bad about today’s photos. They’re not nearly as good as in yesterday’s post, but unfortunately I can’t have my brother at my disposal every day! And I’m so sick of this cold. I spend a ridiculous amount of time everyday trying to figure out what to wear (that can be stylish and warm at the same time). I regret not buying a couple of warm faux fur coats when I had the chance, but it’s too late now. I will (hopefully) soon be starting to buy from the spring collections. That is as soon as the weather gets warmer, because until then, I can’t even look at spring clothing without feeling cold! OK, I’m exaggerating, I know! ;)

Do you buy spring/summer clothes when it’s still cold?

The poncho and the hat made me feel like I was a character in a spaghetti Western and I have no idea how I came up with such an outfit in this cold! My beloved photographer (brother) was available today and he took my outfit pics, so please excuse me for the picture-heavy post, but I wanted to post them all! I was wearing a brown sweater underneath the poncho, with a lovely brown-teal necklace, but it was so freakin cold that I couldn’t take off the poncho (teeth chattering situation!).

This winter there were lots of maxi dresses and skirts, a trend that will continue for some time as it seems. But another style was also shown in many spring collections (as well as in FW 2011-12 runway shows): the midi length. We saw the form fitting midi skirts inspired from the 40’s, the flared style inspired from the 50’s and also the more bohemian 70’s style skirts.
Although many women fear that the midi can be unflattering, I believe that when styled properly and with the right pair of shoes, it can look very chic and feminine.
I rediscovered this 40’s style dress in my closet and I’m happy that I can finally start wearing it again. And I love the fact that it can be worn in many ways and it can also double as a light coat!

(forgive the grey nail polish, which is not at all retro, but I did my nails yesterday and couldn't be bothered to do them again today!)

It was definitely NOT a good day to wear shorts, but I did anyway. Needless to say that my legs were shivering from the cold (as well as the rest of my body parts)!
It’s the second time I’m wearing my Office boots and although their heel is very high and quite thin, they feel very comfortable and are easy to walk in. But I will have to replace their heel taps because they make so much noise and they feel a bit flimsy...

Remember what I told you in my previous post about a pop of yellow? Well, I wore it today with a grey cardi, which happens to be one my favorite combinations (grey with yellow). I needed that pop of color, because the past few days have been so rainy and dull. This constant rain is getting on my nerves. I hate not being able to wear what I like and I’m sick of knits and coats already!

Everything is from
Zara except from the coat (Vintage) and the scarf (gifted, unknown brand).

I want to wish my lovely Greek readers “kali Tsiknopempti”, I hope you have a lovely time and try not to eat too much!

Black and white is probably the safest and chicest combination, especially if it involves a crisp white button down shirt and a velvet jacket. I didn’t choose it because it’s safe, but because it’s definitely chic. I could also add a pop of yellow and then I would be a proper penguin, lol!

Button down shirt: Nara Camicie
Jeans and shoes: Zara
Bag: Tally Weijl

I think that I’m starting to suffer from blog overload! I find it very difficult these days to keep up with my blog posts and reading other blogs and juggling work and other obligations at the same time. Do you have any suggestions that could help me overcome it? Has it happened to you?

Tonight I was invited to a friend’s surprise party, which was actually a small gathering to celebrate his birthday. It’s Monday night and everybody has to go to work tomorrow so it was a casual thing. So my outfit was semi-casual, especially since I had to go there straight from work. I wore a lovely sweater that I bought on sales. I had been looking for a loose knit with thick horizontal stripes for a while and I was so glad I found this one!

I have to catch up on my blog reading again and hope I can do some of it tomorrow. And as for your lovely comments, thank you all so much!!!

Or should I say “wardrobe staples”?! I mean the trench coat and the marinière (traditional navy blue/white striped top). Both these pieces will never go out of fashion and they always make an outfit look elegant and sophisticated. The cropped (or capri) pants could be also added to our wardrobe essentials, especially for this spring, after they invaded most of the famous runways. My favorite where those by Isabel Marant, in skinny style with folded hem (especially the leather ones)!

All items are from
Zara except for the bag, which is Mulberry for target.

Face: Korres watermelon oil free tinted moisturizer SPF 30, Benefit booing concealer, Mac mineralize skin finish natural
Eyes: Grimas No564 e/s, Grimas No282, Korres black eyeliner, Max Factor masterpiece max mascara in black/brown

Lips: Elf glossy lip shine

What do you think about these wardrobe staples? Are they included in
your wardrobe?

Well, just for a day that is! I’m so sorry, but I couldn’t possibly post anything yesterday. I was working until late and by the time I finished I didn’t have any photos to post (couldn’t even find the strength to type, to be exact!). I think I might bend the rules a bit: for the days I can’t photograph my outfits due to work load or other unforeseeable reasons, I will post a collage from pollyvore or something like that. Lets hope I won’t have to resort to that solution, but posting something is better than nothing I suppose!
In that context, just a simple and quick outfit post for today and nothing special make up wise...

Jacket and bag: Zara
Button down shirt: Vintage
Denim shorts: DIY
Boots: old (can’t remember where I got them)

Face: Korres watermelon oil free tinted moisturizer SPF 30, Benefit booing concealer, Mac mineralize skin finish natural

Cheeks: Grimas No560 and No564 eyeshadow/rouge
Lips: Avon golden rose lipstick, Elf glossy lip shine

What did you do over the weekend? I sure hope you had more fun than me! ;)

This was another crazy busy week and I can tell that it’s going to get a lot worse. But I will soon be ready to reveal what I’ve been up to and then you’ll understand why I’m feeling tired all the time lately! But I’m not complaining, it is something that’s worth all the trouble me and my brother are going through. Enough now, I don’t like talking in riddles!
Today’s outfit was built around these lovely pumps that I got on sales. The bag you see here belonged to my mother (I stole it form her!) and it's made out of real crocodile leather. I don't particularly like that, but since it's vintage I'm willing to overlook it!
You also already know my belt’s DIY story and I’m so happy it turned out so good. And the greatest thing about it is that I will not ever see anyone else wearing the same one!!!

Cardigan: Zara
Vest: H&M
Leggings: Tally Weijl
Shoes: Bershka
Crocodile leather bag: Vintage

Face: Korres watermelon oil free tinted moisturizer SPF 30, Benefit booing concealer, Mac mineralize skin finish natural

Cheeks: Elf contouring blush and bronzing powder
Lips: Estée Lauder lipstick in Spiced Coral, Korres cherry lipgloss in coral

I hate repeating myself but I’m dead tired! Can anyone send over a masseur?!

I saw Versace’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection and I was inspired to put together this outfit. The collection was big on prints and patterns which were sometimes a bit overwhelmingly mixed in my humble opinion. I really liked the shapes of the trousers and the coats and the electric colors of the prints and also I’d love to get my hands on that gorgeous pair of electric blue boots.

Top and jeans: Zara
Boots: Sagiakos
Coat: New Look
Bag: Mulberry for target
Scarf: Vintage
Brooch: gifted
Bangles: bought locally
Watch: Vintage Citizen

Face: Rainbow matt finish make up, Benefit booing concealer, Elf HD powder
Eyes: Grimas eyeshadow/rouge No 564 and No282, Korres black eyeliner, Max Factor masterpiece max mascara in black/brown
Cheeks: Elf contouring blush and bronzing powder
Lips: NYX lipstick in Rea, Exclusive elegance double lipgloss

Have you seen the collection? Did you like it?
