Hello my lovely scarlets, how have you been? Did you go on vacation? I did and it was so nice. I spent my summer holidays at Chania, as most summers of my life (I was born there also) and had an amazing time. I managed to film a few outfits so I made a video on my youtube channel for you to see. I have a few photos as well, which I will post here and I'd love it if you would see the video and tell me what you think about the outfits.

This is the 4rth look on my lookbook and it's my favorite. I love this car and I wish it was mine! But remember this: don't be surprised if someday you see me strolling the streets with a classic beauty like this. It's my dream to buy a classic vintage car, even older than this one (which is a 1973 Triumph MK3) and I believe I will....someday!

For the rest of the outfits, please check out my video:

I know I should have made these last posts earlier in the week, but a mean cold had me feeling awful for the past few days. Well, better late than never...
I only went to the AXDW on Days 1 and 3, but I had a great time and it gave me the chance to meet some new people and catch up with others that I hadn’t seen in a while.
Outfit-wise I went for mostly blacks on both occasions. I guess my work dress code is starting to influence my whole wardrobe (I work for MAC and the dress code is “all black”!).  But you can never go wrong with black, can you?!
My make up is of course all MAC, but I honestly can't remember what eyeshadows and lipstick I wore in the first outfit. In the second, I used Print and Carbon eyeshadows lightly blended to create a soft smokey eye, and Impassioned lipstick with Boldly bare lip liner.

1st day outfit:
(Dress: Moschino, Shoes: Brian Atwood, Bag: Vintage, Pendant: Vintage)

3rd day outfit:

(T-shirt: Vintage, Leather skirt: Vintage, Pumps: Zara, Cross: random shop)

Thursday night, ABSOLUT Vodka in conjuction with three Greek fashion designers, Stelios Koudounaris, Sotiris Georgiou and Digitaria, presented a fashion event at Dream City club in Athens. The occasion being the launch of ABSOLUT's limited edition bottle "Absolut Mode", the three designers presented parts of their collections through the reflections of Absolut Mode. It was a multimedia fashion performance, staged by Memi Koupa under the DJ's Apostolos Mitropoulos chosen tunes.
Due to picture overload, I've split the post in two parts.
I will start by Stelios Koudounaris collection, which impressed me once again. I loved all the dresses and the way they were presented. The models started with the usual walk down the runway (but in a rather fast pace) and at the end they all appeared wearing the beautiful maxi see-through dress and carrying roughly-cut mirrors in their hands, which they waved in front of all of us. It was very impressive as the mirrors reflected the spot lights and various images from the audience and the models.

I LOVE this dress!!!

Gorgeous jacket!!!

Model Elli Lianou and me

Me and Emelia from The sugar plum fairy
Mac did the make up for this fashion event (and my make up is also all Mac!).
Stay tuned for the second part with the rest of the designers...

These past 2 weeks have been quite busy fashion wise, but it’s been fun. I couldn’t make it to all shows, but at least I watched some that I really enjoyed.
This the outfit that I wore on the last day of Athens Fashion Week. What do you think about my new Giuseppe Zanotti boots? (and I quote Rachel Zoe) I diiiiiiieeeeee!!!

Last week I finally got something that has been on my wish list for quite some time: a DSLR! It’s an older model, so it was used, but in mint condition. I haven’t had the chance to play with it the past few days, but today my brother and I went to Gazi in Athens and gave my new camera a try. I admit that it takes a lot of practicing to get a decent shot and it really helps having someone to show you the tricks.
I also found a manual of the Canon 40D on youtube, which was really helpful.
If you do buy a DSLR and have no idea how to use it, don’t worry, there is a lot of information online. My advice though, is to set it in Manual mode, because the whole point of getting a DSLR is to learn how to take good quality pictures!
(The photos of me were taken by my brother. the rest of the photos and the editing are by me)

(Vest: Bershka, Top: from random shop, Palazzo pants: ProdigyRed, Shoes: Adidas, Bag: Zara, Sunglasses: Rayban, Bracelts: H&M, DIY chain, DIY charm bracelet, Vintage silver bracelets)

Tomorrow it’s the FNO in Athens. Is anyone going? If yes, leave me a comment or email me and maybe we could meet up.

I think I'll wear my new ASOS dress and bag with a pair of nude lace up booties (unless I change my mind at the last minute!). What are you planning on wearing (for my Greek friends) or what did you wear at the FNO (for my international friends)?

This post is dedicated to my grandmother*, who passed away 3 years ago and whom I loved and admired very much. She was an amazing woman, and I feel blessed that she was a part of my family.
She was a very beautiful woman. The kind of beauty that is natural and effortless. If she lived in today’s world I’m sure she could be a model. Like the ones that are discovered by model scouts. She had grace and finesse. And she remained graceful and elegant through out her life, even at hard times. I don’t remember her ever being disheveled or unkempt. Her appearance was always impeccable, wherever she was, whatever she was doing.

She was larger than life. Very extrovert, usually the soul of the party and the center of the attention. She would go on trips with a group of people she didn’t know and within a few hours, everyone would know her name and want to be in her company.

She had the amazing ability of never saying no, but always doing things her way. I remember her saying “I always say yes, but in the end I do what I want”. She was a strong and confident woman, but she never stepped on anyone’s “toes”. I’m still puzzled how she managed to achieve that!
I also have to mention her cooking skills. She was born and raised in Crete (until she was 18, when she came to Athens), so you can understand what this means. Delicious Cretan cuisine that we were all fortunate enough to enjoy. She loved having people for dinner and could cook several dishes in very little time. She also knew all the recipes by heart! I on the other hand, can’t remember even the simplest recipe if I don’t write it down...

My grandmother with my grandfather circa 1944

I had a very strong bond with my grandmother, not only because she was my mother’s mother. I have her name and many people tell me that I am like her in so many ways. I feel very honored when I hear that and I sincerely hope it is even half true.

(*The inspiration for this post came from the lovely A Brit Greek, who did a wonderful post about her grandmother. )

My grandmother’s photos are from the 40’s (or so), so I decided to do a themed photoshoot (although I feel like an ugly duckling compared to her!). I have this amazing dress that screams forties I just had to wear! My hairstyle is rather irrelevant with the era, but I can’t do much about it. Besides, it is an inspired look. I hope you like it...

I hope this post finds you enjoying your summer vacation somewhere and not in the city like me. My holidays are unfortunately over (I spent 10 days in Crete) and now I’m “boiling” in the city. At least I live near the sea and I also have friends who have summer houses near some lovely beaches, so I visit them whenever I get the chance.
I’ve been meaning to do a post about the Color Blocking trend for a while now. I love bold, vivid colors and especially when 2 or 3 colors are worn in the same outfit. Isn’t it strange, how the trends make us see things? I mean, if color blocking wasn’t a huge trend, many people would think that wearing green, yellow and blue together makes you look like a parrot! But then again many people may still not know what “Color blocking” is and think that combining more than 2 colors is tacky. I'm glad I’m not one of those people...

I knew that the brunette thing was just a phase and that it wouldn’t last long. So here I am, back to my beloved blonde style! No matter what I do to my hair I always return to my trademark color. And I just had to cut it short. In this warm and humid weather the last thing I need is to blow dry and use the flat iron. It now takes me about 5 minutes to style my hair and another 2 minutes to wash it (not in that order!).

So with that out of the way, I have to say that I finally understood why I had lost my blogging mojo ( and please don’t laugh): I didn’t like my hair! As stupid as it may sound, I came to realize that I wasn’t liking my style (before returning to blonde that is) and that de-motivated me to do any outfit posts. I knew something was not quite right, but I didn’t know what it was. And I’m so glad I found it. They say that “when a woman cuts her hair she is about to change her life”. Who knows? Maybe that’s true...

I had to make a great come back so I pulled out the big guns: my brother! I hate the stupid “wall pictures” and I don’t intend to do them anymore. I choose quality over quantity. Within that context I deleted some of my latest posts, because I didn’t think they were consistent to the blog’s style or because I just didn’t like the way I looked.

I also changed my blog layout and I feel this one looks so much better. What do you think?

Last but not least, I am using the Disqus comments platform for some time now, and it makes it easier for my followers to leave a comment and for me to reply. Because to be honest, I hated not replying to your lovely comments my darlings, but without disqus it was such a pain to do it!

Hope you like my new looks and please stay tuned because tomorrow there will be a second post about something very very important!!!
