As promised, here is the second post. In this outfit (from the waist up) I feel like a female version of Marlon Brando in the movie “The wild one”. He played the character of an outlaw biker, wearing a perfecto jacket, a white T-shirt with jeans and boots and a tilted hat, a style that later became an iconic image. Perfecto style jackets and biker boots are still in fashion.
This outfit has some elements of the biker style with the addition of a faux fur scarf and the high heeled peep toe ankle boots, to make it a bit more feminine.

Do you like the biker style?

It was definitely NOT a good day to wear shorts, but I did anyway. Needless to say that my legs were shivering from the cold (as well as the rest of my body parts)!
It’s the second time I’m wearing my Office boots and although their heel is very high and quite thin, they feel very comfortable and are easy to walk in. But I will have to replace their heel taps because they make so much noise and they feel a bit flimsy...

Coat: New Look
Denim shirt: D&G
Striped top: Zara
Denim shorts: DIY (unknown brand)
Tights: Tally Weijl

Cheeks: Elf contouring blush and bronzing powder

No question tonight. I would just like to thank you for your helpful advice and comments on my “Penguin chic” post and tell you that I already feel much better and that my “appetite” for blog reading and posting has returned! And it’s good to know that if I miss a day you’ll understand...

Well, just for a day that is! I’m so sorry, but I couldn’t possibly post anything yesterday. I was working until late and by the time I finished I didn’t have any photos to post (couldn’t even find the strength to type, to be exact!). I think I might bend the rules a bit: for the days I can’t photograph my outfits due to work load or other unforeseeable reasons, I will post a collage from pollyvore or something like that. Lets hope I won’t have to resort to that solution, but posting something is better than nothing I suppose!
In that context, just a simple and quick outfit post for today and nothing special make up wise...

As I told you in yesterday’s post I went out for dinner last night and I wore my new ankle boots. They have a 5” heel with a platform of around 2” and although they’re so high, they’re quite sturdy and easy to walk in. It was a cold night but I still managed to wear my shorts (even though there was some teeth chattering involved!). I don’t like wearing coats on top of jackets, because they make me feel constrained so I put on another one of my mum’s capes and I think it was a good choice.
We had a lovely time and the food was nice. It was something like a pub, with all kinds of beer and a selection of hors d'oeuvres and main courses. I only ate because I don’t like beer and I don’t usually drink alcohol anyways.

Cape: unknown brand (bought from Italy)
Jacket and shorts: Zara
Top: Bershka
Tights: Tally Weijl
Ankle boots: Linzi shoes
Clutch and gloves: Vintage

Face: Avon perfect wear foundation, Benefit booing concealer, Elf complexion perfection
Eyes: Sleek storm palette, Korres black eyeliner, Estée Lauder sumptuous mascara
Cheeks: Elf contouring blush and bronzing powder
Lips: Exclusive elegance double lip gloss

This was the amount of beer consumed! Haha, not really, just the 2L...

What did you wear last night and where did you go?

I was going to go with “Cape fear” (like the movie) but it sounded too serious. And there’s nothing frightening about this cape (or me I hope, haha). So, about the whole cape trend which was so big this season, what do you think? Did you embrace it? I was kind of in between, because although I love seeing it on other people I’m not used to wearing it. I borrowed this cape from my mother and I thought I could skip buying one for myself. I don’t see this trend lasting for a long time, but if I’m wrong, I can still buy one next year. I would go for the belted type, which seems to be more my style.

Last night I went for drinks with A. and his friends and everything was lovely apart from the rain, which took us by surprise and was not what I had in mind when I wore my new peep toe ankle booties! The mere thought of all this filthy water getting inside my shoes, eeewwww!
I also went shopping the same morning (sales officially begun yesterday) and got some lovely things, although I didn’t find everything I wanted. The shops were packed with people and I hate that. I need peace and quiet when I go shopping, sometimes I don’t even want the sales people to bother me. Well, tomorrow I may visit some shops to get the rest of the things I need (need, want, got to have, well what’s the difference?!).

Faux fur jacket and top: Zara
Leggings and bag: Tally Weijl
Ankle boots: Office (new)
Belt: Mango
Earrings: DIY
Bracelet and rings: bought locally

Face: MUFE lift foundation, Benefit booing concealer, Elf HD powder
Eyes: Mac gilt by association e/s, NYX white e/s, Korres black eyeliner, Estée Lauder sumptuous mascara
Cheeks: Elf contouring blush and bronzing powder
Lips: Elf glossy lipshine

A snack served with our drinks. Personally, I prefer the more fattening choices like chips or nuts!

When you go shopping do you make a list or just buy whatever catches your eye?

I’m not crazy about today’s pics, I think I took some rather weird poses and I also forgot to take a picture wearing my black jacket. I experimented with the fur cuffs and used some sleeve cuffs that I had removed from an old coat. I think they’d look much better over grey ankle boots, but I kind of like them even with these black lace up boots.
Tomorrow I’m going shopping for Christmas presents. I’m going to buy everyone a little something because my budget is a bit small this year. But I don’t think the price is important. What matters is the gesture and the fact that you take the time to buy something nice for someone you care about.

Knit: Scandalo (greek brand)
Button shirt: Zara
Leggings: Tally Weijl
Ankle boots: unknown brand*
Rings: bought locally
Fur cuffs: DIY

Face: Avon Ideal Shade Cream-to-Powder Foundation, Nivea perfect cover concealer
Eyes: Bourjois black eyeliner, Estée Lauder sumptuous mascara
Cheeks: Elf contouring blush and bronzing powder
Lips: Exclusive elegance double lipgloss

*You have seen these boots in a few other posts and when I first wore them I wrote where I got them from. But I have been in touch with the retailers to refund me about the second pair I bought from them and turned out a smaller size and they were very rude to me. So I don’t wish to advertise their shop, that’s why I just call it “unknown brand”! I’ll tell you more about it after the holidays, I don’t want to spoil my mood now...

Today I had a more relaxed day and to be honest I tried to avoid getting out of the house because a) It’s so cold and b) I can’t stand the traffic these days with all the strikes going on! So, that left me with plenty of time to prepare my outfit and stage my photoshoot. I used one of my brother’s tungsten spot light as a decor and a regular spot light as lighting (I don’t dare to use his photographic equipment without him present!).
I’m wearing a very cute vintage knit top given to me by my aunt and carrying a vintage bag that belonged to my mum. All the vintage stuff I own come from relatives or friends. I’m not so keen on wearing something a total stranger used to wear!

Knit top: Vintage

Would you like to see a particular make up look from me? Or an outfit maybe?

...because it’s coooold today! I had a lot to do today because I’m helping my mum prepare her dinner party for tonight, so no time for make up. This is what I wore to go out and get a few things we needed and I froze! Good thing I wore a warm hat. So, it’s finally time to bring out some cosy knits, well until the temperature goes up again!
I look terrible without make up, I know, but I didn’t want to “behead” my pics, it seemed a silly thing to do!
