Last night I attended the press event for the "Fashion pastry project" of Max Perry Handmade chocolates with Orsalia Parthenis. This project involves a very “sweet” collaboration as you can understand. The Greek company Max Perry, in association with ALLY, PR & Marketing company came to a very innovative concept: the creation of a chocolate Boutique!
In collaboration with Orsalia Parthenis, who took inspiration from her Bridal collection, a special series of chocolates was created. Mrs Parthenis designed 6 different women’s silhouettes (which were inspired by 6 of her beautiful wedding gowns), playing with the contrast of dark, white and milk chocolate.
The fashion pastry show will be available at the Max Perry stores from mid December till the end of January 2012.
The event was held at Galaxy bar in Hilton and it was lovely. There was chocolate everywhere and I really wanted to taste every single piece. I restrained myself to only two, which were delicious!

I hope this post finds you enjoying your summer vacation somewhere and not in the city like me. My holidays are unfortunately over (I spent 10 days in Crete) and now I’m “boiling” in the city. At least I live near the sea and I also have friends who have summer houses near some lovely beaches, so I visit them whenever I get the chance.
I’ve been meaning to do a post about the Color Blocking trend for a while now. I love bold, vivid colors and especially when 2 or 3 colors are worn in the same outfit. Isn’t it strange, how the trends make us see things? I mean, if color blocking wasn’t a huge trend, many people would think that wearing green, yellow and blue together makes you look like a parrot! But then again many people may still not know what “Color blocking” is and think that combining more than 2 colors is tacky. I'm glad I’m not one of those people...

So, what do you think about orange with fuchsia? Likey or not likey?

Ok, the title is random cause it’s late and I can’t think of anything better. Come to think of it it’s not so random since I actually burnt my hand (you can see the mark on my hand at the 4th photo) with the toaster!!! I’m so clumsy sometimes that I’m dangerous to myself, haha!
I hope it won’t leave a scar, I hate scars. But I do like them on men. Don’t you find it kind of sexy when a man has a small scar above his eyebrow or on his chin, like Harrison Ford for example? I have weird tastes I guess... ;)

I want to buy a few things from an American market (that’s how we call our thrift shops). You can find some great pieces there sometimes. Do any of you lovely greek ladies (or gents) know of any good ones in Athens?

I felt like Rocky Balboa today, as I had to endure a 6 hour “adventure” in Ikea in my high heels. Actually, the only similarity to Rocky’s situation was the expression “no pain”, which was constantly on my mind while I was walking around the store, when all I wanted to do was take my boots off and continue barefoot. OK, I admit it, this time I should have worn my flat boots. It would have saved my poor feet from aching and my brother from my constant nagging!!!
Oh, and as promised, I’m wearing a new pair of leggings (got them on sales), that have a faux suede front. I should have taken my pics in the morning when I was all nice and fresh, instead I took them after my (painful) shopping experience, hence the sad and tired looking face!

I saw Versace’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection and I was inspired to put together this outfit. The collection was big on prints and patterns which were sometimes a bit overwhelmingly mixed in my humble opinion. I really liked the shapes of the trousers and the coats and the electric colors of the prints and also I’d love to get my hands on that gorgeous pair of electric blue boots.

I suppose you remember Woody Allen’s film, but even if you don’t I’m sure you are familiar with Diane Keaton and her iconic style. Long flared pants with men’s button down shirt, a waistcoat and a super long tie. That was one of her signature looks which has inspired many stylists and fashionistas. Including me, whereas I added a few feminine elements here and there.
With spring approaching, when the 70’s trend will be at it’s peak, I ‘d like to do more “Inspired” looks, especially from films or tv shows like “Charlie’s angels”, “American Gigolo”, etc.

Denim on denim used to be a fashion faut pas, but not anymore. The trend has started since last spring and is still on, at least until further notice! It seemed very appropriate to wear with my new faux fur vest and gave the outfit a “cowgirl” feel.
Last night I went for dinner with friends and we really enjoyed it. Remember my last Cretan cuisine disaster at a not-so-traditional tavern? Well, this time we went to one that was very close to the real thing and the food was delicious (andI ate tons of it)!

Do you go by the book with the fashion faut pas (which are usually retracted at one point or another)?

It’s not easy to be elegant and stylish in cold weather and I have to admit that wearing heavy clothing is not my thing. Thank God for layering, a fashionista’s only hope of creating a stylish outfit while managing to stay warm. I didn’t do anything groundbreaking today, just a classic button shirt-cardi combo, with a some teal accessories to make it more interesting. It wasn’t the warmest outfit for this weather, but again I’m always cold, no matter how many clothes I wear. What can I say, I’m a summer person!

I was going to go with “Cape fear” (like the movie) but it sounded too serious. And there’s nothing frightening about this cape (or me I hope, haha). So, about the whole cape trend which was so big this season, what do you think? Did you embrace it? I was kind of in between, because although I love seeing it on other people I’m not used to wearing it. I borrowed this cape from my mother and I thought I could skip buying one for myself. I don’t see this trend lasting for a long time, but if I’m wrong, I can still buy one next year. I would go for the belted type, which seems to be more my style.
