That’s how I could describe the color of the top I’m wearing. Which is actually a lovely asymmetrical skirt, that has never been worn as one. Because see-through is fine for a top, but a no no for a skirt. Come to think of it I could try wearing it with a lace petticoat underneath, that would give it a nice touch don’t you think?
I have been loving bright and neon colors lately and I think that I’ll keep wearing them during the fall season too. Austere blacks and browns without any hint of color make me feel depressed at the moment, but maybe it’s because of the weather. Maybe I’ll have a change of heart come winter. I’m notorious for my mood swings after all...

I felt like Rocky Balboa today, as I had to endure a 6 hour “adventure” in Ikea in my high heels. Actually, the only similarity to Rocky’s situation was the expression “no pain”, which was constantly on my mind while I was walking around the store, when all I wanted to do was take my boots off and continue barefoot. OK, I admit it, this time I should have worn my flat boots. It would have saved my poor feet from aching and my brother from my constant nagging!!!
Oh, and as promised, I’m wearing a new pair of leggings (got them on sales), that have a faux suede front. I should have taken my pics in the morning when I was all nice and fresh, instead I took them after my (painful) shopping experience, hence the sad and tired looking face!

I suppose you remember Woody Allen’s film, but even if you don’t I’m sure you are familiar with Diane Keaton and her iconic style. Long flared pants with men’s button down shirt, a waistcoat and a super long tie. That was one of her signature looks which has inspired many stylists and fashionistas. Including me, whereas I added a few feminine elements here and there.
With spring approaching, when the 70’s trend will be at it’s peak, I ‘d like to do more “Inspired” looks, especially from films or tv shows like “Charlie’s angels”, “American Gigolo”, etc.

It would be far more interesting and poetic to write about a cold heart than about my cold hands, which I’m embarrassed to say, are suffering from chilblains! The fingers of my right hand to be exact, and they are swollen, red, sore and very itchy. It’s so annoying and even painful, especially when I’m working and I need to use my fingers and the make up products irritate it even more. Tomorrow I’m going to see a Doctor and hope that he can give me something to make it better. From what I know it has to do with poor blood circulation and/or it’s a bad reaction to cold and humid weather. And I live in Greece for crying out loud, it’s not THAT cold!!! Go figure...

I was going to go with “Cape fear” (like the movie) but it sounded too serious. And there’s nothing frightening about this cape (or me I hope, haha). So, about the whole cape trend which was so big this season, what do you think? Did you embrace it? I was kind of in between, because although I love seeing it on other people I’m not used to wearing it. I borrowed this cape from my mother and I thought I could skip buying one for myself. I don’t see this trend lasting for a long time, but if I’m wrong, I can still buy one next year. I would go for the belted type, which seems to be more my style.

Another one of my sales purchases is this beautiful leopard blouse. It has an elastic waist which you cannot see here since it’s tucked underneath my skirt. I styled it in a formal way with an 80’s feel to it, while the make up is inspired by a Gucci runway show (a/w 2009 by Pat McGrath). I wouldn’t normally use these colors with this outfit (I would go with earthly tones, browns with black and nude lips), but I was in the mood for something more dramatic and retro.

I saw this film a few days ago and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere and the era reminded me of the film “The Doors”, because there was a lot of drugs, sex and rock and roll and all the craziness of that time. Both movies are about bands, but to be honest I didn’t know the story of “The runaways” up until now. If you haven’t heard of them either, then you must definitely know their guitar player/song writer, Joan Jett. She is a great musician and singer and if you see the film you’ll realize that some people are destined to shine and to become famous.
What I also like about the film is the clothes. Apart from a few crazy outfits, the rest are totally in the spirit of this spring’s fashion, because the movie is set in the 70’s. I got lots of inspiration from it for spring/summer outfits, as well as for today’s post!

I went to the post office today to get my delivery from Linzy shoes (new amazing ankle boots, yay) and on the way home I couldn’t resist not buying a few things from H&M. Not much left on the sales rack, but I managed to find a few nice bargains! They will be featured in future posts... ;)
