Silk and pearls!

Oh I feel so bad about today’s photos. They’re not nearly as good as in yesterday’s post, but unfortunately I can’t have my brother at my disposal every day! And I’m so sick of this cold. I spend a ridiculous amount of time everyday trying to figure out what to wear (that can be stylish and warm at the same time). I regret not buying a couple of warm faux fur coats when I had the chance, but it’s too late now. I will (hopefully) soon be starting to buy from the spring collections. That is as soon as the weather gets warmer, because until then, I can’t even look at spring clothing without feeling cold! OK, I’m exaggerating, I know! ;)

Sailing on the seven seas!

I felt like a sailor (or captain) with this hat and jacket. Add a tattoo with an anchor design on my arm and I’m ready to sail, haha!

It has been raining all day long today, so depressing. I even had to postpone going to the doctor (for my hand), because for some reason whenever it rains in this city everything stops working/moving. And I have very low tolerance to traffic jams!

By the sea!

What a lovely day today. The sun was shining and although it was quite chilly I enjoyed my short walk by the sea and a hot cup of french coffee at a nearby cafeteria with a friend. I guess you must have figured out by now that I’m a sea person. The mountains are nice, but I love the sea and cannot live without her (it’s a “she” according to shipmen). Not much else to say about today other than I was out for most of the day and it was lovely. I really prefer going out in the morning and staying in at night. Especially on a Saturday night when everybody is out on clubs and bars and there’s so much traffic and no place to park. I enjoy a nice dinner indoors, playing board games or watching DVDs. I don’t know if that means I’m getting older or wiser (or both!).

Maybe in red!

As I told you in my previous post, I had to meet my (summer) friends at a Cretan restaurant. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Being born in Crete and bred with the original cretan food (my grandmother was a terrific cook) I have very high expectations when it comes to this cuisine. I have yet to find a restaurant that serves good and authentic cretan food in Athens. And last night’s was no exception. The portions were extremely small and it didn’t taste like the original thing. If you have been to Crete you should know that you never leave a restaurant half full or disappointed. Everything is delicious and at reasonable prices. At least everywhere I have been in Chania, where I have spent every single summer of my life.
Anyway, I was so put off by the food that I forgot to take pictures while I was there, so when I got back I took a few in my house. Loulou was constantly attacking the tripod so I grabbed her and put her in the picture too!

Day 63 - Pictures in the park!

I like it so much when I can take some pics outside, with a nice background and not the usual wall at the balcony. I was out and about i the city when I saw this beautiful little park and took the opportunity to pose for some blog pics. The park was in a quiet neighborhood so there weren’t many people around (who would usually be staring at the “crazy” girl posing!). I wore my New look shoes again and I have to say that as much as I love their design and heel height, they pinch my feet so much! And I can assure you I am not a “sensitive shoe wearer” (that’s a new “scientific terminology, lol)! But, I will continue wearing them because they are sooo cute. That’s the perversion of the fashionistas: do you remember Rocky Balboa (in Rocky IV) when he was training to beat the Russian? No pain!!!
